Supreme Court asks NBI to probe fake annulment sites

At the request of the Supreme Court, the National Bureau of Investigation has launched a probe into social media pages offering “no hearing, no appearance” annulments.

According to a "24 Oras" report by Saleema Refran, the Supreme Court in particular pointed to a Facebook page called “Annulment Process and Nullity of Marriage,” asking the NBI to look into it and find out the persons behind it.

In a letter to the law enforcement agency, the Office of the Court Administrator said that the page's claim is a "deception."

"Obviously, the intention of such offer is to lure victims into paying unjustified fees for irregular services," it said.

The Supreme Court has requested the NBI to identify the individuals behind the service so that they may answer to a court of law. GMA Integrated News is trying to reach the page for comment. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
