Olivia Rodrigo has plans to perform in the Philippines!
In the outtakes of her cover story interview with Rolling Stone, the Filipina-American musician said that “she plans on touring [in the Philippines] soon[.]”
“People there are so welcoming and hospitable and awesome,” Olivia told the music magazine. “Filipino people ride for other Filipino people,” she added.
Olivia was born and raised in California to a Filipino father and a mother with German and Irish ancestry.
She previously announced dates for the GUTS World Tour, which starts in the US and Europe in 2024.
The singer released her sophomore album “GUTS” on September 8. It includes the singles “vampire,” “bad idea right?” and “get him back!”
Olivia’s debut album “SOUR” became a top hit with songs like “drivers license” and “good 4 u.” She went on her first tour in support of the album last year.
She was nominated for seven Grammys in 2022, and won Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for “SOUR,” and Best Pop Solo Performance for “drivers license.” She was also named the 2022 Billboard Woman of the Year. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
